Aussie-related tobacco-ware book. Maybe you have this?
Hi there Ol' mate, Coxy from C.S. QLD here.
I have been collecting tins and stuff for maybe
30 years and have: approx. 250 tins (some with
lead sealed tops + original seal is intact,
therefor the tobacco +/ and the 50/20 wartime
and Craven A and various other cigarettes
contained with some tins and packs remain
luscious) ; other assorted packs and vesta tins
(with original Vestas still inside).
So, where I am going here is to tell you a
little bit about what I have but the salient
point is to recommend a book to you - if you do
not have it already?
Australia's Tobacco Advertising
(Smoke-O)
Author: Ray Reeves
2012
Crown Castelton Publishers
ISBN: 978197534877
359 High St. Bendigo, VIC 3550.
Phone: 03 5441 8070.
Oh, my tins are for sale to you for sure (my
ebay shop is not prepared well either ☹) as I
have not catalogued them nor photographed them
all.
I have a digital collection of 1100 (and
counting) Aussie produced feature films that I
have been cataloguing, researching, etc. and
that was eating up my time.
I could create an html 5.0 website for my
tobacco stuff though I believe that one cannot
sell tobacco products that is integral within
containers as it is an offence etc, etc.
No rush to get back to me as I see you blog had
activity way back in 2014 (I think that was
when I first bookmarked your site :) and good
to see you remain within the business of
promoting the artistry, history, antiqueness
and general amazement of how the Aussie
designers enamoured the public into buying
tobacco that was contained within their
containers of coloured-smoking-fantasy.
Best,
Coxy
